Yeah this dude was awesome. Mortuus era is my fav but they've always had good vocals. Legion is the man too.

Heaven Shall Burn is one of my least favs of theirs but I still dig it. La Danse Macabre and Nightwing are also very solid yet unspectacular from the Legion era. Panzer Division Marduk and World Funeral are both heaters though.

Panzer Division is top 3-4 Marduk for me. Just pure hyperspeed and unrelenting stuff.

nightwing is very good, odd remake of deme quaden thyrane from here on it though. went back to the one from here and it's just much better. bass tone is so rich here definitely miss that. nightwing is definitely a good blend of the variety and melody this has and the repetitive tremelo heaviness of heaven shall burn. just enough variety and a really great doom-y song in dreams of blood and iron. of hell's fire is great straightforward brutality. they also really know how to write sick ass tunes about dracula, pretty cool storytelling. underrated on here i'd say, not even a review!

Yeah they go into a bit of autopilot mode on Heaven Shall Burn and Nightwing, but both still very good and rifftastic. Panzer Division Marduk really refines their whole hyperspeed sound. Plague Angel is when they start experimenting with more atmospheric/apocalyptic stuff. God I love this band.

It's easily the best of their mid era stuff. I also think World Funeral is super underrated.

crazy they've had such a long career with multiple really good vocalists and eras and seemingly haven't missed a beat
