Completely torn between giving this a 4.5 or a 5.0 which means it's probably closer to a 4.5

This, Draconian Times or In Requiem. Among these three, this is the least accessible (my favourite, though). If you wanna hear some death growls, check Gothic or The Plague Within.

Tough band to get into, worth it when you do. Start win Gothic because fuck it.

fac start with this or Draconian Times. Both are pretty similar so if you like one you'll like the other

No way. The songs up to 'Once Solemn' are awesome, but then there's a drop in quality. Icon only has one questionable song.

Both are about equal for me

Icon just felt more inspired to me, plus the album art rules.

They're both inspired and consistent, but atmosphere of Icon makes me prefer it.

Jamming this one atm. Very few bands feel as '90s as Paradise Lost, to me.

Not exactly sure what you mean by that. Plenty of groups sound very '90s.

I mean the riffs, the atmosphere, the production, the songwriting. Paradise Lost are one the few bands that transport me back to the mid '90s so much.

Fair enough. I guess grunge does that the most to me for early '90s.
