While this might seem to be a somewhat exaggerated view of the song,

No it is not! Album is so close to perfection! Review was good and fluffy hahaha!

Both are on par as some of the greatest albums post-metal ever made. Good enough answer? They're both however, miles away from In the Absence of Truth. This Message Edited On 02.10.09

Nah man, Oceanic is the best Isis. I'd say out of the three I've heard:

Oceanic > Panopticon > In the Absence of Truth

all good though

It's cool, you at least respect both bands which are pretty high up in my books.

Ruins,

In the Absence of Truth is more musically put together in terms of how well it flows as a whole. I mean, I love the harsher moments of Oceanic and Panopticon, but they don't possess those truly 'aw' inspiring moments like the outro to 'Dulcinea' for example. End of that song moves me dude.

Dulcinea is the best song on that one though.

To me this and Oceanic flow better as a whole and don't have the filler tracks like Absence does.

I pretty much like Oceanic the most for the same reason you like In the Absence Of Truth the most. But i for sure agree with you on the end of Dulcinea. epic
