Yes I know its a sub-genre of punk. But I mean look at things like Death Metal, Black Metal, Heavy Metal, etc. Compared to other forms of metal, Metal-core is extremely basic and unwilling to add progressive aspects to the music most of the time. I don't consider Metal-core to be a part of the metal family, mostly because of its lack of interest in one of metals primary fuels, which is Progressive Rock. Not saying ALL other forms of metal are infinitely progressive, but they are so much more so than the bands we were talking about before. And I'm sorry lucazade but you obviously skimmed through everything I said.

I've already said I didn't enjoy trendy music especially in metal-core, whose origins aren't unfamiliar to me at all. Though the originators of the genre are incomparable to modern bands because it was a different era and from the examples that other dude gave me I assumed we were talking about bands from that particular time period, which is what I was referring to. Sorry if you misinterpreted and all, but thats not a reason to tell me I'm talking out of my ass. When I used to listen to bands like Hatebreed, Converge, Biohazard, Unearth, etc. I was still bored with the overall formula, which is in other genres more widespread because a vaster level of instrumentation is accepted as the norm, it had noting to do with the bands simply being of the same genre. All metalcore is lyrically is storries about slicing your wrist because your girlfriend left you, and how so much i would love to get her back, or stories that are about teenage angnst. Now i dobt every single metalcore band does but the majoruty ive heard do. The only ones i care for are Protest the Hero (kinda mathcore) and BTBAM. I like a little varitey in my music. no what kills me is that the kids are only into metalcore and they basically say "fuck everything else" or thats the way it is in Pittsburg, but idk.
