^^^ Oh yeah, what did I say in the Review Summary... I don't just throw words around. To quote myself: "... deliver a GROWER of an album that will reward the patient..."

Don't forget to let us know how that gig turns out Altmer...

Ahh, was he a wrestler??? I think I vaguely remember him when I used to watch WWF. Anyway I'd much prefer eternal damnation to a wrestler kicking my ass for breaking the law.

Careful Ross, using the letters WWF could have a thousand pandas in suits hauling your a$$ into jail. It's WWE now!

the gig was pretty amazing, they only played one tales song and a lot of stuff from casual and off this record but it was energetic and the crowd was pretty crazy

Haha. Kane, you are The Big Red Machine, aren't you?

Ross, it's been WWE for about 6 or 7 years now. They got sued by the World Wildlife Fund in England and the pandas won the court case somehow.

Great to hear the gig rocked Altmer. I am not surprised that they only played one 'Tales...' song (I presume 'Into Oblivion'?). They really are catering to their fans by playing a lot of stuff from 'Casually Dressed...'

So did FFAF kidnap Claudio Sanchez and force him to do the artwork on this album?

Wll they're not called 'Funeral For A Friend' for no reason... They have their under-handed ways to accomplish such things!

Yeah they played Into Oblivion. They played like 5 or so off the new album (constant illuminations, waterfront dance club, maybe I am, kicking and screaming, you can't see the forest for the wolves), some stuff off casually (escape artists never die, juneau, she drove me to daytime television, some other songs iirc...i recall this year's most open heartbreak...), then they played history, streetcar, roses for the dead, and I think also monsters...

this was an earlier setlist, it was much like this

Constant Illuminations

Juneau

Streetcar

Waterfront Dance club

She Drove Me to Daytime Television

This Year's Most Open Heartbreak

Rules and Games

Roses for the Dead

Kicking and Screaming

You Can't See the Forest for the Wolves

Your Revolution is a Joke (I don't remember this being played)

Novella

Encore:

Into Oblivion

Maybe I Am

History

Escape Artists Never Die

Ta for the setlist Altmer. It's pretty much what I would have expected, although not playing 'Beneath The Burning tree' is a little disappointing. 'Constant Illuminations' doesn't do a great deal for me, while '... Forest...' would be interesting to hear live. The remainder of their older tracks are pretty much constant staples really. With regards to 'Your Revolution Is A Joke' & 'Novella' they sometimes throw them in when they need a slower break I think... Usually for longer sets they perform.

Finally got round to listening to all of this, still no standout tracks yet but the album as a whole seems good enough.

Well summed up Ross. And it's the type of album that if you don't continue to listen to, it will fade from the memory pretty swiftly... But if you give it a chance, it will grow on you to some degree.

^Definitely. There aren't any 5/5 tracks here, but most of them are solid and there's a lot of variation.

I wouldn't say a lot of variation AmericnZero02, but it can be argued I suppose.

Just as a matter of interest, what were your 3-4 highlight tracks from this...???

Yeah I guess there's not too much variation outside of "Building", "Constant Resurrections" and "Waterfront Dance Club." There is in comparrison to TDTT. My favorite 3-4 eh? Probably Beneath the Burning Tree, Maybe I Am? Kicking and Screaming, and Someday the Fire... in that order. Almost the exact same as yours I just noticed, hah.

Good minds indeed think alike! And I'd say I have initially under-rated 'Maybe I Am' and it will be one of the main growres from this album.
