Hey, erm, great CD, but **** review. No offence or anything, but it really is. Your track-by-track doesn't tell me anything. All it does is ramble on about 'insane solos' and describes what happens in the song; 'oh it's the intro, then the verse, then the angry chorus', if you were trying to sell this I would wanna know a lot more.
Also, it doesn't give any criticisms, no matter how good an album is, there has to be some way it could have been improved - it's too obvious that a fan of the band is writing this and not a critic who is able to give constructive criticism...
I don't like how they said 'we will lose and gain some fans'. This obviously means they will go more mainstream and radio/MTV friendly.
It's because they said the new album is going to have a very different sound. Little or no screaming and more of a classic rock vibe. I'll be buying it no matter what, but I'm very apprehensive.

I also want screams.
I loved Shadow's voice on STST, but I'll probably download this when it comes out.

Agreed. Some doctor told him if he continues to scream like that, his voice will be shot in a couple years. Hence the much less generous amounts of screams found on this record.

But after hearing both of the albums, I've decided that you really can't compare them. They are extremely different albums and they both appeal to very different musical tastes. If I were to pick a favorite, I would go with STST. The album still blows me away and gets more revolutions than this one. But I know people who depise the screaming and the whole song style of STST. They love the way his voices sound on this record and the more metal approach this record has. But even though this album is more metal, I think the songs on STST still tend to be more brutal. I just like the fast, heavy movement the songs on STST have, this album just seems a bit slower and drawn out. But I still stand by my original belief that the albums are really incomparable.

Yes, I also liked the more brutal/raw sound of STST. I also loved it how the songs on STST had pretty much no song structure at all.

Me too. That is another factor, along with the voice, that often causes people to love or hate A7X, as many of my friends have said, "I hate them, they have no song structure." I like it, and it sets them apart from some of the chorus-breakdown-chorus metalcore acts of today.

What's stopping them from getting another person to do the screaming? Live and on album.

It wouldn't be the same, but it would be something.
