I don't really agree that breakdown=metalcore. SLayer, metallica, iron maiden, testament...all have breakdowns in their music....but I digress.
And about the screaming...Corey does do some of the screams on this album...they have very different sounds.
After seeing them live a few times you can def. tell when it's him...since on the crusade tour he did every scream during every song.

it's sad that people still choose to hate this band because it's the "cool thing to do". your loss, this record is a very fun listen.

I don't hate this because it's the "cool thing to do", I hate this because it just reeks unoriginality and has horrible vocals. This Message Edited On 09.25.08

to be honest I wouldn't. I get made fun of at school because I openly admit I like emo music and everyone makes fun of me saying I like some "stupid, whiny, I'm gonna kill myself" music.
|
| |
That makes them extremely ignorant.

the problem is the unfortunately common misconception of emo. MCR, correct me if im wrong, are pop punk, and Atreyu and Silverstein certainly arent emo.
i wanna blast some CTTS and Saetia for my friends sometime, all of whom like Ratatat, Lil Wayne, and Kanye, and nothing else =(

most people have no clue what emo music is.

MCR, correct me if im wrong, are pop punk, Yep thats what I consider both them and Fall Out Boy, the two most mislabeled bands in the history of everything. Anyone that uses emo as an insult obviously has no idea how awesome emotional hardcore is. And if we played CTTS for someone who called MCR or FOB emo and didn't tell them it was "actual emo", they'd probably love it. Until we told them what it was, of course. I fucking hate people today. ahah

Don't blast CTTS for anyone! Eugh.

That opinion is invalid on this site!!!

"fourfa.com is a cute site that misses the mark when it comes to emo because its so full of itself."
While no single source should be considered gospal, care to say where they miss the mark to the extent that it couldn't be used as at least a viable source?

AtavenHalen make a new list/journal to update me on your journey of hatred through emo.
Working on a few reviews at the moment, but you'll get your update soon.
Next on my "emo" list is Joshua Fit For Battle.

site looks pretty stupid tbh, i find the best way to define emo is to kinda like, listen to it. yeaaah
|

I see your point illuvator. To be honest I think the emo scene has gotten out of control to the point where any guy who sings in a high key is considered emo these days.
I haven't seen a more thorough history of emo than on that site though...I can't say I've gone searching too much either.
And to say "just listen to it" is kind of hard thing to do when "emo" doesn't even describe music it describes content.

I don't know anything about him so should I assume that will be a credible source? If so then it may answer many mysteries of life!
