Yeah, I probably shouldn't say metal in general. Costa's not exactly a master of the blast beats, but damn, that double bass is faster than in Joey Jordison's wet dreams...

"two weeks" is possibly the best song they have done yet..these guys have "it" and while ambient spooky progressive metal might be more popular on sputnik this album is solid..all you need to do is listen to it while running or at the gym and you'll recognize it's greatness

He got Cradle of Filth right, at least.

Unfortunately, that's the only thing he got right.

There's no hate bandwagon for this, just a 'omg genericness' one (my views aside). At the gym, listening to TDH or TFoI is a much more pleasing prospect than listening to this. Real shame, All That Remains have so much potential, but they've just squandered it here.

I'd place a bet on it being MassMetal.

I agree with the review. Absolute letdown after TFOI. Glad Shannon Lucas left the band and moved on to better things. This Message Edited On 12.07.08

I'm not sure who I like better, Costa or Lucas... Probably Lucas. I agree it's a good thing he didn't stick around for this album, but man he was a hell of a drummer for them on TFoI.

I really blame any crap on this album on the production, they should've stuck with Adam.

I think the reviewer focused too much on the vocals. Vocals are the last thing laid in any track. Though it may be a focus here, it isn't the only thing. But this album wasn't very good regardless, and I do agree with the vocal critique, I just think it was the first and foremost point in the review. The guitars are probably the biggest part, and while you did touch on them, I think they usually beget more attention. That's all. But I def. agree that this album was sub-par, especially for a band that put out This Darkened Heart. For shame.

Did anyone feel really let down when they were younger and they first found how albums were actually recorded?

McDiggitz - I see your point, but I honestly barely noticed the guitars through the crapness of the vocals. I don't really like this review, tbh.
