Have only heard the first two songs/myspace songs but im liking it so far, especially since the vocals no longer make my ears bleed...i don't know if it's just me but they seem to be much better, maybe im just being a silly willy

Damn it Coke, you were right!

I'm starting to like this better than Origo

"is this album a good place to start?"

I think Origo is better to introduce you to the band though

Finally made up my mind. A four, nothing more, nothing less. While this may be an excellent record, it just doesn't have those jaw dropping moments with the atmosphere and intense builds (see 'The Immateria' off Origo for a prime example of both) that their last record had. Still a worthy top 3 for metal releases this year.

im on my second listen right now. so far i am starting to enjoy this one a little more than Origo (even though i still love that album immensely). the first time i put this on it kind of caught me by surprise and i didnt know what to think, but now everything is falling into place. this is def going to be in my top 10 of the year

After 2 listens I'd have this ranked 4th probably....behind Equilibrium, Demians, and Mirrorthrone. Gonna give this a listen when i'm done listening to the new Iskald.

how is this compared to conquest:writhe and prey on life? sounds like theyve cleaned it up a bit. i havent gotten origo but i was a fan when the first album came out. any insight? i dont see any comments regarding those two releases.

So your list is backwards hahahahaha. jk!

Well for starters, Conquest:Writhe was a pretty straight forward, sludgy coated roller coaster ride. Prey on Life showed more elements of atmosphere and post rock on top of what Conquest:Writhe had already set out. Origo is a combination of those elements redefined and alot more focused (way more energy as well). This feels like it should have come before Origo, which is kind of unfortunate. Its like they took a step back, spread out their songs significantly, and added more progressive elements to them. It kind of lacks a bit of tightness in some areas while some areas of the album are just breathtaking. Check out 'We Are Dust' for one of these orgasmic moments of tranquility/ stomping hypnotic riffs.
