You guys all think that Bloc party is terrible and sucks?
They in my opinion will go down as the most unrecoginized bands of all time.
They are honestly way better than most most bands i've heard, not just that Bloc party is extremely unique in so many ways.
THAT IS ALL.

Yeah but they got rid of the electronics and made Four and that's a massive piece of shit so
|

four is better than silent alarm

Agreed this is their best, yeah. :]
|
| |
silent alarm > weekend = another weekend > intimacy > four
would be mine
I like how much it varies between different people though
|
| |
yeah, at least we can agree that bloc party rules overall. and yeah we found common ground, clercqie. a small victory!
|
| |
used to worship these dudes so hard from 05-08
four just didn't give me the same vibes unfortunately
I mean I like it and think I 3.5d but yeah doesn't hit the level
not just nostalgia talking either

Duh, of course the band rules. First three albums are (near)-classics for me. Together with the Arctic Monkeys albums probably the band I've listened to the most. I got through 2007 with only Favorite Worst Nightmare and Weekend In The City - every other music then was totally unnecessary, 'cept for maybe Neon Bible. Shame I can't do that anymore.
|
| |
dude same weekend + another weekend + favourite worst nightmare
all day erryday, hundreds upon hundreds of plays
those were the days man
|
| |
awe man, favourite worst nightmare is ridiculously good. i haven't heard that in ages

You betcha!
Closest I've gotten since then is when David Comes To Life and Vacation came out in 2011. Every bike, bus, train or car ride where instantaneously provided with a soundtrack.

IT'S MORE A QUESTION OF FEELING THAN IT IS A QUESTION OF FUN
Gonna jam it right after Silent Alarm finishes here.
|
| |
yeah I still jam it once or twice a week cos it's really great running music
all these dudes from both bands can really fuckin play too
nothing crazy technical but they are so so tight and both tong and helders are beasts behind the kit
|
| |
i still haven't heard their newest. i should probably get on that
|
| |
me either actually but I dug the fuck out of r u mine?
I mean it's a blatant sabbath ripoff but that style really suits em

And Helders is incredibly versatile as well. See 'The Jeweller's Hands' for instance.
The Monkeys are the only band from my teens who still can't do no wrong. Suck It And See was incredible as well. Looking forward to their new one that's supposedly gonna drop somewhere in June or so.
I had hope for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs but their latest is pretty bad as well unfortunately :-/
