Well Altmer, from the looks of it your appeal hasn't gone through; You're still here.
Into Eternity is nowhere near as bad as St.Anger, I dont even know how you can say that. They are hardly even the same genre of music. Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean they suck.

Nevermind, you listen to Snow Patrol and Katy Perry, I understand. I'm sorry I made fun of you, I didn't know your condition.

I think it's about time you tuck your fanboy back in your pants.

It's funny how far down you have to scroll in his ratings to get those two. You must've been looking pretty hard.

When you click on his name, those are 2 of the 4 bands in his bands that he's "currently digging."
Not to nit pick, but they were.

General consensus on the site says this album blows. I have to agree.

After another full listen of the album I still don't understand such a low rating. Its basically SoA part II, which isn't that bad of a critique. I'm probably going to lower the rating for this but only to a 3. These guys are just too solid.

That's one of the worst critiques a band can get. That shows they didn't progress from that album and played it safe. Regardless I stick by my rating and opinion. This album is simply bad

I think its forgivable if they only do it for this album. Anything beyond that is pushing it. There are a lot of albums that didn't progress that much from the album before, and some are considered classics. Iron maiden's Powerslave, Children of Bodom's Follow the Reaper, and Metallica's Master of Puppets to name a few, not bad albums to say the least.

Yeah, Erratic, I didn't have to scroll at all. Apparently the obvious just eludes you a bit too easily, big guy.
Yeah I'm actually not an Into Eternity fanboy. I don't own any of their albums and I only listen to them in my friend's car, but I can tell they're talented and their music is good. It's hard for me to take the mad beaks you're laying out, ZooYorker.
I'm actually not trying to make a bad first impression on this site. I'm just amazed by the amount of hostility I'm getting for disagreeing with this guy's review. Seriously, suck it up. People will disagree with you, you needn't be assholes about it.
But no, this album isn't a 1.5 in my books. not at all. And Dream Theater are far from boring.

I giggled at your Akerfeldt comment. I'm having a hard time believing this band can release anything straight up bad though. I'm still going to check this out but with caution.

The music is pretty standard Into Eternity, and none of it is particularly memorable. Plus Stu Block started to suck, A LOT.

I still think Stu Block is amazing.

I haven't bothered with this band since BiO. Good review, and i agree with your point about the vocals. They really are pretty awful.

Yeah, I've always hated this bands vocals, they may be pretty original to an extent within the genre, but it doesn't stop them being pretty damn bad.

I really don't understand the criticism of Stu's vocals. He has incredible range, plus he hits the notes clearly without any of the annoying nuances of his contemporaries. And his growls are much improved. I saw the group live twice and Stu put on a hell of a show.
Yeah, album is mediocre, but a 1.5? There are still a couple of songs that are note-worthy on this.
