There are quite a few enjoyable parts on this album, but they're all in the first half. Listening to the second half is pretty tough.

Guilty pleasure.
Carnifex=blast, breakdown, blast, two-step, blast, breakdown, breaaaaaaaaakdowwwwwn
Every song. without fail.
Unless it's:
breakdown, blast, breakdown, two-step, blast, breakdown, breaaaaaaaaaaaakdowwwwwn
Still like em. don't know why. Same with Suicide Silence.

Bleh. I hate this album. I love the breakdowns in Adornment Of The Sickened, however. Only song that really stands out.

Very bland.
Tolerable in small doses.

Look, I just stumbled upon this, and I've never read any of your other reviews, so i'm going to assume you just tripped and landed with your head up your own ass resulting in hearing loss. First of all, this album is damn near a masterpiece, you hit play and your slowly lulled in with some strange other worldly sounds and then BAM! your kicked right in the face with a precise technical metal assault, and then about 1:10 into the second track you hear it, Carnifex's bread and butter. Epic rage filled rock-the-fuck-out, beat the living shit out of anybody you can get your hands on, broken and bloody bodies flying around in the mosh pit BREAKDOWNS! Not that Carnifex is solely a breakdown band, the drumming is technically precise throughout, the guitar riffs are driving and medieval, the vocals are very well placed and intense. I don't understand how you cant hear the bass although its mostly root notes and such it still fits well in the tracks and is obviously present. Anyway this album is brutal, far better than Suicide Silence's No Time To Bleed, and light years ahead of anything Emmure could even dream of. Its defiantly worth a listen.

a well written review, i honestly feel that every song has a generic breakdown that starts fast then always slows down. the album before this is a good album to listen to, but this one is annoying, the only song that i actually somewhat enjoy listen to is "answers in Mourning" but other then that a boring cd.. great review though..dont let this album give deathcore a bad name, if u want good bands search Hester Prynne, Those Who lie Beneath, or I Declare War
