oh btw i meant to add, i think the hardcore/metalcore scene in australia is 99% shit.
but the skramz/emo scene is more than fine, seriously bands like:
ohana, (old) my disco, hospital the musical, the forest, to the north, quiet steps, quebec, luca brasi etc etc are all doing great things
btw: ALL of you, go listen to a secret death and hospital the musical now, i cannot stress this enough.
