ok, its only happened once in these comments, but its the 4th time in 2 days that i have read someone refer to the single as 'best of me'. Am i missin something here? did they change the title of it? It's a pretty simple title to remember and Grohl screams 'best of you' about a billion times in the song, should be enough to help you remember it!

Sorry, rant over. Nice review, consider paragraph length though (as mentioned above). I love everything about this album, one of my fav songs is not listed here though - The Sign. I think it might be a UK bonus track. My fav acoustic track is Cold Day In The Sun, Hawkins' vocals are pretty amazing. Can't wait for a release from his new band :-]

Apparantly they were only going to release the acoustic 2nd disc, but decided to add a rock disc as well. I suppose releasing an acoustic album on its own would have been..different, and a change, but come on, they have to go out with a bang!

Best Of You just got me the moment I heard it...and to see it live with 10000 people who love it too is one of the best arena rock experiences you'll ever have.
I think the key to their success is that they put 100% energy and conviction into everything they do, and it shows. They're that most rare of things in our current musical culture: humble, no-bullshit rock stars who respect their fans.
Off the topic, but...live, dave dedicated Times Like These to Lemmy...sheer awesomeness. Especially when I saw Motorhead the next night in the same venue. Rock overload. This Message Edited On 03.18.06This Message Edited On 03.18.06

I don't know. I bought this CD and listened to it, but it just didn't seem appealing to me (other than the singles). Maybe I should listen to it again. The 2nd Disc is all right.

average album, average review. for me, the foo fighters just got steadily worse after the colour and the shape, although one by one was an appaling album. they were at thier best earlier in their career, or as a 3 piece.

all the singles off this album really get on my tits as well

The Foo fighters haven't really gotten worse just a bit different. This really showes Dave Grohl as a competent song writer instead "the guy in Nirvana". Definetely a solid album.

not my favourite album of all time coz all the songs sound a bit too samey. ` Best of you` and `cold day in the sun`are two of dave Grohls best pieces of work ever

This is by far the worst foo fighters album its terrible. Sounds like Grohl go eaten up by mtv its just random terrible noise. End over end was legit but that's it. Where's the amazing stuff like come back, all my life, everlong, new way home. This has tarnished them so bad that kurt is puking in his grave.

And for christ's sake get a good back up guitarist, thank god dave kicks ass the other guys is just pile of ****.

We're obviously not listening to the same album here.
No Way Back? D.O.A.? Best Of You? Cold Day In The Sun? Ring any bells?...these are some of the best songs in the FF catalogue, filled with energy and emotion.
I'm sorry sir, but I am compelled to disagree with your (unjustified, unsubstantiated, and unquantified) opinion.

This was more of a Foo Fighters biography than an album review. The album is pretty good though, but the more I listen I start to realize theres alot of tracks that don't stand out at all.

Great album, awsome review. I just now noticed the song "The deepest blues are Black", and its a great one, but by far my favorite song on here is "Resolve". DOA is awsome too. "Best of you" is pretty good, but kind of all over the place.

Man, DOA is so overplayed, everytime I turn on the radio its playing. I's a good song, but I just can't listen to it anymore. End Over End is probably my favorite off this right now.

this album sucks -.- The songs are rushed and very simple and repetetive. No way back is great but the rest is a pile of sh*t
