Yeah, no problem. I haven't heard anything from it, same stuff as this?

There was that new song that was posted that will be on the new album, sounds pretty much the same as anything off this.

I wonder whether they will ever break into America with this music?
|

What do you mean?

What I mean is that I think the reason Cry of the Afflicted folded was because they couldnt break out of Canada playing a similar
style of music and I am wondering whether Secret and Whisper are destined for the same fate. I don't see Secret and Whisper or
Cry of the Afflicted as your atypical post hardcore bands, I just don't know whether they could achieve the popularity of someone
such as Pierce the Veil/A Skylit Drive who are both shit but more popular.

The music business is weird like that, I'll admit. You always see the shittiest or the untalented bands leading the pack. But to be honest it doesn't bother me; do I really want to hear my truly favourite bands 24/7 on the radio and then get sick of them in a few months? I like the fact that my favourite bands are unknown or unpopular for that reason.

Thing is though bloc lad, I am from the UK and these bands never make it over here unless they make it to a reasonable level of popularity. This is disappointing admittedly because I too enjoy being a fan of bands unknown to most, this because it makes me feel of greater importance to the band instead of a number. This is indeed a naive attitude to have but its what i convince myself.
|
| |
It's not naive at all, but I think I know why this may be more important to you. First and most obvious, being in the UK limits you from seeing or even hearing about bands from North America as you've mentioned.
Second could be because you go to a lot of band shows? If these bands are unknown in the UK, they probably won't be showing their faces around those parts. However, I don't go to concerts and stuff so I guess I feel okay with what the current music situation is like.

You are right on both counts my friend.
I only found out about Secret and Whisper about a month ago or so by someone on here recommending them to me after i
reviewed Cry of the Afflicted's 'The Unveiling'.
|
| |
Damn, I'm good ;)
But I got a great solution for you because even I miss out on tons of stuff. Check out the band on last.fm and you can find tons of artists that are similar to them. What I do is check out each of those bands' myspace and then determine if their album or whatever is worth getting.

^The acoustic version of Anchors. Best song by far imo.

Holy shit forgot all about this band. I remember seeing them live with Our Last Night and Sky Eats Airplane. Will definitely give this a listen.

Definitely better than their new one
