It'll come to you, Lark, I'm sure. This album is like the best friend you could have, always there to cheer you up, to remind you to appreciate and be grateful for the people in your life, and to keep your chin up for another day. Sure, it's no boundry pushing work of art, but no one can convey those emotions the same way this band, and more specifically, this record can. There are many records I can out on and enjoy rather nonchalantly but sometimes this is the only album I ever need to hear.

A New Name For Everything has possibly the best lyrics of any of the songs that exist

Pika's rating is a 3 - he is indifferent to hugs and love, confirmed.

they'll publish a retrospective/revisionist 9.7 review in a couple years like they've done recently with bands like blink et al.

I can’t see not thinking Left or Leaving is a classic, but their other two albums are patchy imo. Some great songs, some meh. LAL is a fantastic album though.

just woke up with a recent comments thread full of Dream Theater bumps. am in an extremely bad mood and expected better of this thread than a load of awful takes, citational or otherwise -_-

a new name for everything might be my favourite of theirs lyrically. Samson describes everything soo perfectly - and the brief hint at hope at the end is one of their most inspiring.

the earlier lyrics though of 'the threads of your fear are unfurled with the tiniest pull' just captures the anxiety n fear of general day-to-day so well
