Satch rules and Malmsteem is a wanker.
So many great riffs and solos on this album.
Satch uses a lot of effects but they blend will and his playing is flawless.

Soulless. A pristine show room demonstration when what you want is a blown amp in a garage.

Comparing this to Maximum Security and Mind's Eye and other shredders that came out in the same couple of years, I realize this is actually kinda corny sounding lol

Satch boogie rocks so fucking hard. And bloc, satch is completely different to most 'shredders', all of those guys play neoclassical metal, whereas satch just plays (fucking amazing) blues-tinged rock. Him, vai, Michael Lee firkins and blues saraceno exist in their own bubble when it comes to guitar virtuosos. Shred got corny, this stuff holds up

Gonna spin a whole bunch of different albums today, may give this one a chance even though it's not usually my type of thing.

Not a big fan of this one. Really interested in seeing if it clicks with you.

Yeah let's see. Think i'm gonna spin this one now and then i'm gonna get to never say die by black sabbath as i watch the england game, i'll take it from there later ahah.
|
| |
I guess this is pretty enjoyable in places, there's some cringy af moments on this for sure ahah, but also a couple of interesting tunes. Wish this wasn't as inconsistent as it is though, i guess i'll spin it more later to see if my rating still stands but i'm thinking this is firmly a 3.
|
| |
Yeah, it's super cheesy at points, but it's still definitely a good album. Very much a product of its time, haha.
|
| |
Ahah yeah so it seems. There's a song in there, always with me always with you i think, that just sounds so damn 80s, ahah so not my thing. But that's okay, this has some enjoyable songs elsewhere.
