I guess I just like Maiden's stuff with a more Piece of Mind/Number of the Beast feel, which I don't think Powerslave has. Not that it's bad, it's still a great album (if a band released it today, it'd be amazing.), I just don't think it's up to Maiden's best.

Great review this album is great. The first time i heard this album it was raining and then Rime Of The Ancient Mariner came on it was werid with that slow part and it raining. Kinda werid i know but I listen to this album all the time its great if you don't own it GET IT. and Seventh Son Of A Seventh is my least favorite Maiden album just the song Can I Play With Maddness is just blah!

So I've changed my mind. The Rime of the Ancient Marriner has grown on me, and now I think Powerslave's one of Iron Maiden's best songs. Still, apart from the first two and last two songs I don't think this album is as good as it is acclaimed.

This is fucking awesome, i prefer this to number of the beast. Rime of the Ancient Mariner i think is my favorite Iron Maiden song right now, Aces High, Powerslave and 2 Mins to Midnight rule also, and Back in the Village is underrated imo.
