I'm listening to this right now. Like the review said some riffs are repeated into redundancy, but the rest is so amazing that I can't resist. Especially the clean singing in When, sends shivers down my spine.



Circle of Tyrants and Remember tommorow incredible covers as well, I almost like remember tommorow better than the maiden version, and Maiden is my favorite band

The choice between "Orchid" and "Ghost Reveries" was tough for me. "Ghost Reveries" have some of Opeth's weakest songs (imo), yet I LOVE the overall mood it creates. Obviously, it's going to be disputed. Can't we just say all of them are marvelous? It's OPETH! =DThis Message Edited On 06.09.06

April etheral is the king of all opeth songs. His vocals are so dark in that song.

This review was ok. You didn't really describe why some songs got the ratings that you gave them, specifically The Amen Corner.

Actually, Akerfeldt played bass on this album. Mendez was brought in my Lopez for this album but by the time he came into the studio, it was too late for him to learn the basslines in time. Akerfeldt played bass on the album, playing the instrument he originally played when he came into the band in 1991.
