i do agree that hold on is a desparate attempt to make a meaningful song i saw the video a few days ago it said something about suicide it kinda looks like they copied blink. the background looks like a lame attempt to show some emotions, pain was written everywhere. i dont know why but my cousin is very in to it. they dress like punk posers and the stuff they play are very easy. :lol: gc sucks ***

very crappy, but not hopeless

After taking a look at this review i decided to take a look at the tablature for the songs on this album. Now, I have only heard a few songs on this cd, so I dont really know what they sound like, but I'm trying to prove my point here. So I looked at how to play these, "songs", but I dont see real music. I see seemingly ENDLESS combinations of power chords, more power chords and More Power Chords!! I never had any respect for this band to begin with but when I actually took the time to see how awful these sad excuses for musicians really are it makes me want to weep. I've only been playing guitar for less than two years and i could make up better riffs than these morons. Anyone who actually considers GC legitimate musicians needs to seriously reconsider the path they are taking in life. Music used to have depth...what happened?

I've heard this entire album and it does not deserve a single point. There is nothing good here. Anything done musically is automatically forsaken by the band's rampant hypocrisy. For God's sake, in "Lifestyles", they're rich people complaining about rich people complaining. And this sort of hypocrisy is in just about every song. When it's not, the song is still beyond terrible.

I'm not gonna bash your review, as it was well thought out and you obviously took your time to review it, well done for reviewing it else no one else would.

Well, I am not going to bash them, bu, I'll say the only song I can even stand is "The Day that I Die", and the acoustic does rip off S.D.'s "Ball and Chain", which is a great song. Go listen to it.

For those who are confused with the whole drummer thing: the guy on the album was just temporary, after Aaron (the guy on the first album) quit to join Wakefield with his bro. *cough*. Now their permanant drummer is Chris, who plays at live shows and stuff, and is on the new album.

Yep, I'm a GC fan, and **** proud. Hey, Joel turned me onto the Cure, because he's a fan of them and mentioned them a couple times in reviews. Paul turned me onto Bauhaus because he wore their shirt at a concert. I tried listening to Social Distortion because of Benj, but eh. So yeah, they're kind of like a gateway drug :D

My neighbor girl used to listen to this CD all the fricken time! I was forced to listen to the CD because her parents were always away at work and I would have to go over to the house occasionally to check on her (this was on my vaction week of course). At first, I thought some of the songs were catchy and decided to put up with it for a little while. After about 3 days, it all just to old but still, she continued to play it. Finally, I had to put my head in and say, "Amy, doesn't this ever get annoying or old to you?" She replied with "No, I love Good Charlotte, they are the best!" Those words "the best" just rang in my head for a few seconds at the same time I was thinking "it's time for a change." "Amy, have you ever heard of a band called Red Hot Chili Peppers?" I asked. "Yeah, but I don't know them very well" she replied. "Well, I think you might get into them if you give them a chance, and also, there won't be any more complaints from the neighbors about crappy music." She was very confused by now, but she agreed to listen to RHCP with me. Just as I expected, she LOVED them! (wow, I really can rub off on someone). I've never heard a Good Charlotte song since.

I think the title track (young and hopeless) and "Hold On" are the only things worth buying the album for. Y&H is actually one of my favorite songs.

Good Charlotte Sucks!!!! I have friends that used to listen to it and when i went over, they would put that **** cd on and it was annoying. This and other modern "rock" bands are exactly the reason why ROCK IS DEAD!!!!!

i downloaded the new good charlotte cd just to see how bad it was, and let's just say i was not disappointed. it was MUCH, MUCH WORSE than i could have ever imagined. in the past they were annoying, but the songs were still catchy. now they're just plain ****ing boring and annoying. hahahaha i love it.
