"ur pretty much right about all the songs, my fav. song from that cd would prolly be with you or forgotten. about joe hahn's instrumentals: ur right about cure for the itch but session was a very good instrumental."
These are the kinds of children who listen to Linkin Park...

Hybrid Theory is OK, but not brilliant. Meteora is the second worst album I own (Metallica's "St. Anger" being worse).

i agree hybrid theory is there best album

I have no qualms, personally, with people who say that they prefer bands who have, in their opinion (whether there is backing evidence or not), more talent at this or that. Frankly, you can easily find evidence for saying that any member of this band is sub-par when compared to someone else. Chester is an amazing vocalist, in my opinion. But talent-wise, he can't hold a candle to Serj Tankian, let alone people of such incredible skill as Michael Crawford or Luciano Pavarotti. Mike can't touch a number of rap artists for flow, the bassist is nothing next to Tool's, the guitarist is nothing to Hendrix. But what's the point of the comparison? It's the specific combination found in the group and the way they do what they do that makes them what they are. And millions of records shows that to be something pretty phenomenal. More to come.
|
| |
And speaking of commercial success, why does that automatically qualify a band for the "worst sellout of the century" award? What if people just LIKE them? Is there something so wrong with that? If someone's gonna trip off success, they're gonna end up a bit like Nirvana, TRYING to make records that drive fans away.

Hey, sampled vocals are still basically instrumental, as Joe did all the sounds in that track.

I thought you didn't like Linkin Park oooooooo. What's the German rock crap. You love teh LP.
|

Actually that is still true, I can give you pictures of the formation if you would like, but I cannot lie that i enjoy them, however they did not influence my name, the closest influence would be my Counter Strike handle which I have had longer than Hybrid Theory has been in existence. And I never said I didn't like them, just that I did not take my name from that album because honeslty on one album was good and that was Hybrid Theory. This Message Edited On 08.03.05

I realize that. I just needed to make fun of somebody. I hadn't done it for 5 minutes and I was getting lonely.
|
| |
oh ok im sorry. I understand that feeling.

Well back when i was at a young impressiuonable age of 12 I enjoyed linkin park - not anymore I had this album then i realised 1. the bassist doesn't make himself heard 2. the lyrics are immature I can understand why people like them and for that reason not really degrading themThis Message Edited On 09.16.05

Hybrid, I give you credit for actually admitting that you like this cd. Many peolple do, but they're embarrassed to admit. I stand by the statement that Hybrid Theory is a brilliant album. It got me into nu metal, which got me into metal. Well done review.

Actually, after some listening I think he is an acceptional singer, but not one for the record books. This might be my next review if I can manage to find the cd.
