Not their best but it’s a good album yeah. Towards The Sky is a banger

I jammed this one hard when it came out -- didn't understand the lack of hype. It's a blast. Haven't heard any of their stuff in a long time though.

This one got better with time. Which is strange since it also lost my interest after few listens when it first came out. When you stop looking for nonsense non stop guitar wankery they are known for it does reveal itself being a great melodic death metal. Nothing too special about it other than being more mellow and heavy on the keyboard compared to rest of their albums.

I'm not sure Kalmah is a band I associate with "nonsense non stop guitar wankery", especially given their proximity to Bodom. "Principle Hero" and "Withering Away" come to mind maybe. but more mellow here, for sure. pretty wild how much the atmosphere changed when the keys added atmospheric pads to the trademark sawtooth leads.

it's exaggerated speech, but this one clearly has less of that of their early 3 albums. What we've been chasing after them for 20 years lol
