To me they come off as a cross of Melvins and later Enslaved.
Damn I love this album. I got it lastnight and it's already a classic for me. I love the clean vocals in Seabeast. Megalodon is legendary. Yeah.

Am I the only one who doesn't worship this album? I liked a few songs, namely Megalodon and Naked Burn. As far as I'm concerned, Dancin' Man, Naked Burn is the best song on this album. Just becuase it isn't heavy doesn't make it shitty nu-metal. Seabeast is an absolute wreck. I found Hearts Alive overlong, repetitive, and boring. I Am Ahab has a rather annoying riff, and I find Aqua Dementia overrated. I like a few of the songs, but this album also has many flaws.

I used to not like "Naked Burn" that much but I don't really care about the vocals in Mastodon songs anyway. They're probably the LEAST important part of the band, and I've heard the members themselves think in much the same way.
But my favorite song is still "Megalodon" :cool:
