also the mix sounds so off, things are so much louder than they should be

yeah that song in particular is very off-putting, i sort of didn't like it when i first heard it. after i listened to this enough times though i started to understand everything better and now i wouldn't change a thing about this. There's a lot of playing with contrast on this, that's what soft as snow is all about. it's supposed to be simultaneously ugly and wonderful. You Never Should is the best shoegaze song mmmmfff
