Trivium's old stuff owns though. Ascendany was amazing but I must admit this album grates a bit. Since arguing my point a few hours ago I decided to listen to it again, and suddenly it seems so much more idiotic. Ascendany and Shogun are a LOT better. If only they'd go back to their Ascendany days, perhaps people would respect them more.

Heafy is a tosspot, though. I've read some interviews and realise was a pretentious driveller he is. I still like this album but I now understand the disappointment. I also feel slightly dirty for defending it earlier. In fact, I;m off to wash now. LOL

The thing is Trivium, you're so easy to hate. I tried to defend them but at the end of the day its a losing battle- anybody who knows music knows that they rip off pretty much every other band. My mate said he learned to play a Trivium song because he knew a Megadeth song, and then changed a couple of notes. I mean, a couple of notes? Thats just hitting duff notes, not musical talent.

I don't dispute they cant play, but they should do something more creative with their instruments. Hark at me now, slating a band I was sticking up for earlier...

I dont know why I bother...in the back of my mind I knew it was pathetic to like them and to defend this, alas. It's all over now. I can sleep at night again. Shoot to kill.

OH MY FREAKING GOD! What is it with you guys? So much hate. Its all music. Just let it be. If you don't like then don't listen to it and let those who enjoy it listen to it for their enjoyment. I frankly don't like Slayer but I wouldn't go around calling them a suck band. They just dont play a style of metal that appeals to me.
