i love it so much

I hear no evil in this just coldness and no emotion
in a good way

I was talking about this band the other day and realized I had no idea how to pronounce the name. Still don't.
Oh shoot 1,000 comments next comment like what I'd like to thank procrastination.

the end of lentic catachresis is pretty much the best possible way they could of ended the album as a whole
i mean the whole thing is on the verge of falling apart into uncontrolled nonsense the whole way through (i mean that in a very very good way) so when they finally do let it its like fgiuhdfljshknj

the coldness and lack of emotion just add to the evil aesthetic though
like when i hear this i basically imagine being consumed by some massive evil alien machine of some sort

thats totaly the oposite 4 me tho; thats really large scaled but i think this is really claustrophobic
like being trapped in a very small room that you have no idea how to get out of, thats pretty scary in itself but then you start hearing random noises from outside it and you have no idea what it is it just seems like random shit being hit randomly but after a while they start getting you all crazy and you swear the walls are gonna eat you or some shit if you don't look out for urself for even a sec
i just found my 2014 jane doe soundoff

parhelic triangle especially though
i dunno why but it has this really weird massive mechanical atmosphere to it
kind of reminds me of that section near the end of half life 2 when you finally get into the citadel in a way

I don't think this album is 'cold and emotionless' at all. Listen to some of the underlying beats, there is plenty life to them.

yeah honestly I can't say I really identify with the claims a lot of people have about autechre, and this album particularly, being cold and emotionless but I definitely see where the idea stems from

maybe "Cold and emotionless" is too much but compare it to shit like Boards of Canada Aphex Twin or hell just a lotta Warp Records bands and it isn't nearly as warm

its not cold and emotionless its just more interested in impressions and spatial relations rather than emotions.
look at the album like you would look at a piece of architecture

i wonder if thats why the architecture comparison works so well, because it looks so much like their name
but then again that's what this is about, not knowing what reference point to compare it to
