Yea i agree with Angel Phoenix. The CD is good, but just doesnt sit as well with me as ALASKA did. I loved that cd, just cant get into this one. And anything Opeth does i will probably like, considering they are my favorite band.

This album isnt really good at all. People make it out to be so amazing, but its really just weird. Opeth kills this band. The vocalist's growl is terrible too.

I really enjoyed Alaska and can listen to it in its entirety anytime (i have it on cassette in my car so i do so often)

I didnt get into colors in the same way for many of the reasons you said. ive listened to it 20 times since i got it and dont really listen to it anymore i just remember the bits that i liked insted of having to listen to it.

I get sick of just thinking of this album because there was/still is so much talk about it. Its really good, I listened to it everyday when it came out but there's just something about it. I literally feel a little sick when its mentioned on here anymore. The overglorification was insane.

I agree with you 100% about this album getting too much praise/attention. Its definitely not as good as some other albums that came out in 2007 like Sigh's Hangman's Hymn or Primordial's To The Nameless Dead, but it gets much more credit than those when it definitely doesn't deserve it.

I suppose it's more the musicianship than anything else. I'm a sucker for wanking guitars. The album just pumps me up as a whole and puts me in a good mood. While it is unorganized, I don't really give a shit. I just think it's an awesome listen because it includes some of the best musicianship of this decade.



And the last few minutes of White Walls are mad epic son.

I do agree that the guitar playing is good. Other than that though i just find this album weird. Again the vocals bring it down a lot, but its not the only thing. The way it goes off into like polka or whatever that is in Prequel To The Sequel is just weird as hell.

Haha i think i'll pass on that one. I'm not really planning on listening to this for a long time if ever again. I listened to it at least 8 times and i still dont like it at all. Maybe eventually it will grow on me, but i doubt it.
