As an accurate summary of Nirvana's music? No.

As a useful tool for new fans? Indeed.

I love this album, I think the selection is fine, but it needs less Nevermind (probably not In Bloom), it could do without Rape Me, and it definetely needs more Bleach. One song just isn't enough, especially the particular song they chose, which is very different from the rest of the album and doesn't serve as an accurate respresentation.
Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, Drain You, and Aneurysm should all be on there IMO.
Definitly. I think that Tourettes should be on there too, but thats just me.

ive seen a lot of dissing of best of albums, i think they're good when your getting into the artist and you want to hear an overview of their songs to see if you like the em, my first zep cd was early days/latter days and thats how i got into the band
Courtney love is a fsucking whore , realy , she married kurt cobain to have his money and she gave him that gun to kill himself so that she could have all the money ! Death to her !!
No, Kurt Cobain killed himself. Courtney Love is a whore, but she had nothing to do with his death.

meh, I don't wanna talk about him dying..there are alot of conspiracys and ideas of how he really died. He's dead, yeah he was awesome, but he's dead.

Dumb is the best song they did in my opinion.
I give you an unlimited amount of credit for putting Sappy. That song was horribly underrated, and is the best rare/unreleased they ever made (good selection, by the way). It's just too bad it was never released...
But getting back on topic, it was a decent review, but I disagree with most of your ratings. I agree that Aneurysm should've been put on there, but what are you gonna do. I have Incesticide and this one, and I least thought You Know You're Right was great.
Aneurysm wasn't one of their best though. Though I probably wouldn't buy the greatest hits album. It's a waste of money and it coul've had much more songs on it.

Nirvana the grunge band? On Bleach, perhaps, but after Bleach certainly not.

Heart shaped box is my favourite song on the album. Songs like ''Milk it'' and ''Very ape'' would of been welcomed, they were the direction Kurt wanted to take Nirvana on in the future. I find this album to be depressing at times, especially how it is arranged, having the Pro Tooled 'you know you're right' as the first song discreetly sounds off the intentions of the album right away, but a great listen nerveless

well people this is what you're all forgetting... this album has no bad songs by Nirvana. Sure its a little incomplete but every song on is great, IMO. Just cause it doesnt have some of the other classics by them doesn't mean its bad at all. For anyone who doesn't know the band i highly advise them to get this album.

In short, download Heart Shaped Box, and go check out some other grunge bands.

Your a idiot mate, For starters David bowie's version dosnt have shite over Nirvana's, same with where did u sleep last nite. Plus If you think u like grunge music, and u only like heart shaped box, then ur a fool cause i wouldnt call heart shaped box grunge, mabye the chorus.

This is a great compilation of nirvanas best tracks. gotta admit "man who sold the world" is SUPERB and sounds much better then the original from bowie. 10/10 for me!
