they sound exactly the same as the originals, I don't know where any of minutes were lost honestly.

alright, cheers!
despite the minute loss, Dethtrasher still gave it a 5 so ill get it anyway... i listened to the first quarter of Crimson I on youtube, and despite the rubbish quality, i was more than impressed!

Okay, in Crimson II, Passage of Time is almost 10 minutes, but my version is only 5:30. Sounds right too, as if nothing was cut. What a rip-off. So either they took 4:30 of Passage of Time, or Wikipedia lies big time. In fact, I've seen 3 different times for Crimson II, 39:30, 41:30 and 43.This Message Edited On 09.07.08

thats really strange. maybe its better to buy When All Is Said, then torrent the Crimsons.
i'll post on the Ultimate Metal Dan Swano forum, and try to get an answer directly from him. or at least one of his many rabid followers

I found this super cheap (having heard both Crimson I and II from this) and really consider buying it. So I was thinking now that this is remastered, do the songs (particularly Crimson I and II) actually sound better? Cause if not I would rather buy them seperate with that additional minute and a half they had. So could anyone help me out on this?

how about you just buy the original albums? crazy I know...

Why? When I can get both the Crimsons AND handpicked songs from their other albums in mint condition for 7 bucks...

Oh and DeathThrashProg, now that you're at it, ask if Ã…kerfeldt did some clean vocals on Crimson I. I still have my doubts on the last section with clean vocals on that song.

oh, and i already know that he does clean vocals on CI, yeah does he?
Confirm it :P
|

the booklet says so
|
| |
Not really. It says where he comes in and does vocals, and they're all growls.
|
| |
well yeah, who said he did clean vocals
|
| |
reread my other post.
|
| |
ah i see, my bad. i knew he did one of the 2 and not the other!
|
| |
ok, im on the third song on the first disc. i honestly dont know why i didnt buy this earlier. there are similarities in the vocals between Obituary and early Akerfeldt, which is a combination of 2 vocalists who i really admire. This song (Enigma) has so many changes in 7 minutes, but all centering around awesome Melodic Death. i am impressed!

Yea, Enigma is an awesome track. Easily one of my top 5 EoS songs.
|

im so glad you got me to check EoS out (through the review) because i am enjoying it so much.
so many great moments, like human aberration:
"LET ME DIE AGAIN!"

oh great. The second disc is made up of 99 short song parts. i cant rip that, its madness! i guess i'll have to download it now, that was a bit of a letdown.

Yea, I hoped that there would be two huge files instead of those annoying second-long parts when I got the album.
