I've listened to it two-three times already, and like it more than Vheissu already. Simply AWESOME. I'll have my own review up soon...

I'd give it three.
Fire is okay but I outgrew that kind of thing. Water is a lot better to me but I'd listen to Kid A.

i bet it will be even more experimental than this album.
One of them will have no electric instruments and only one song will feature an actual drum kit, so probably.

Although I'm really not some sort of Thrice fanboy by any means, I really also can't wait to hear this album with CD quality instead of the horrible Myspace stream. AAAGGGHHH CRACKLE CRACKLE.

I'm going to actually go out and get this so I can hear it with proper sound quality. It's a surprisingly good album. Who'da thunk it, Thrice recording a conceptual album and making it work so very well. Vol. II is simply beautiful.

I've got a Bull Moose music store like ten minutes away from here, it'll be easy enough to get.

Volume II - Water
The Water disc was certainly chosen as the best contrast to the obvious fireworks of the Fire disc. Other than the obvious antithesis that exists in nature, Water is more sedate, pensive, and lush, unlike the brittle intensity of Fire. Fire's most intense moment, "Burn the Fleet," is the last thing the listener gets before getting plunged into "Digital Sea," a song that begins with a melody that is unlike any heard thus far. Its electronics bubble, the drums are subdued, and the vocals are highly doctored with echo and reverb.
Think you meant "The Flame Deluge."
Monstrously kick-ass review.

"Burn the Fleet" has got such a grandeur about it, I love it. The music works with the lyrics so well, I'd happily be lead into battle in such a manner.
And yeah, "The Flame Deluge" is pretty intense.

yup, it's amazing.
