no, you fucking idiot, he gets overly wordy at times. mostly hes a brilliant songwriter with a really laid back voice and I really like The Weakerthans but sometimes when I'm listening to reconstruction site, which is still a really good album, I say to myself "John just get to the fucking point". I like that a lot of his songs take time to really grasp their meaning but unfortunately for me sometimes he gets a bit carried away and possibly a little pretentious at times. Which is strange, because his style of songwriting is very sincere

I'm so sick of the lack of real discussion on this site. I came forward saying "these two songs are amazing, some of the best music ever blah blah" and instead of a discussion taking place, which might have happened last year, I just get one of the same handful of users talking shit and then not backing it up at all. If people want to disagree that's fine. but this: "if thats what you really want, may I suggest a hobby" is such a damn cop-out. netural, don't try to act like we're investing more into this site than you are by seeking out threads of albums you know you don't like, just to spend hours commenting on their threads and disagreeing with everyone, yet never backing your opinions up, not even a little bit.

I think I've decided two things about this band, seemingly conflicting opinions:



-Plea is no longer my favourite song by them, ...Explains Her Departure now takes the cake. It's just too damn much to handle, but granted, part of what makes is so good is the context set by the first song in the series.



-I now rank this as their worst album (though I still like it quite a bit) even though it has my favourite song on it, I've just been digging Fallow a lot lately.
