This is the first album and only album I heard by them. I love the vocals and the drumming especially. It's so nicely fit together so tightly yet snug.

One of my favorite albums ever. It's almost perfect.
Oh yeah, here's my rankings.
Planet Of Ice > TMBCLT EP > Menos El Oso = HRP > TIWIKABG EP

You people make me love sputnik. Very accurate assessments. This album has been gathering dust on my computer until yesterday.

When we Escape is so sick, but I usually end up listening to HRP before this if I want some MTB. Still amazing though.

Double Vision Quest and Lotus are pure bliss.
It's nice hearing a darker Minus the Bear.
Sometimes it can't always be super happy dance surfer d00d time music.

I absolutely LOVE the break into Ice Monster! Hadn't listened to this in awhile and it rekindled my love enough to read this thread. I totally agree with almost everyone on this thread. The mood on this record never breaks, and is quite icy (kinda fits huh?).

They really botched up the vocals on this one and the production in general made it really dull. When We Escape is the only song on here where the vocals are how they should be, and the only songs that interest me are that, Double Vision Quest, and Lotus.

I've always been a fan of MTB - but POI just took it to a whole nother level. It's crazy how they were able to tweak their sound so flawlessly between albums. That being said, I still prefer their older music... They Make Beer... has to be their bet work
