Sounds promising, but I love this album so much so I can't imagine another album being able to match it.

Well, I'll eventually buy both Thelema 6 and Zos Kia Kultus, I'm just wondering which to buy first....

At first the vocals really turned me off, but after many listens I got used to it. Now I love the whole album. It was the same with CoF's "Dusk And Her Embrace". At first I hated it but I soon became very fond of it.

What is this review doing in the black metal section? This Message Edited On 06.25.06

Their first albums were black metal and I guess you can't split a band on here between albums. I think it is something that needs to be changed.
|

I know that they used to play black. Their old stuff is great, the new is shit. I hate these multi-layer-fag-vocals.

These guys can only hope they can compare to rue death metal like Dashboard Confessional and Fallout Boy.

No doubt that this is one of the most heavy album of 2004. I appreciate their change in lyrical themes, for now they are more in the vein of Nile. The music however has become even more extreme than the previous album, and is even more technical. Nergal does a mystifyingly great job singing, and playing guitar. Great CD!

1ST BEHEMOTH ALBUM!!! Holy crap its awesome! The entire cd is filled with crushing riffs and cunt pounding (i love saying that) drums.Negrals vocals are a little on the weird side, but i can deal with them. My favorite tracks are Demigod and Towards Babylon.
These guys look like something out of a Mortal Kombat game with all those costumes they where. LOL

I love this album to death, and I would've given it a 5 except Nergal's vocals are up so loud it kind of distracts from the rest of the music..

Yeah, those vocals could stand to be turned down a notch or two.

Slaves shall serve
Its an anthem

The drumming is incredible and I really dig the guitarists pinch harmonic styles. Vocals, eh mixed opinions on those.
|

I managed to get a friend to burn this for me and I think the drumming on it is f*cking godlike. I've never heard that much skill so far.
I like the horns that come in on the 2nd song. It gives a nice contrast to the extreme heaviness that comes after.

Inferno is one of my favorite metal drummers out there, and he's certainly one of the most talented. His feet are just so ungodly fast!
|
| |
Seriously there drums are so incredible. I saw them at SOTU and their drummer played faster in warm ups than any other band did all day during their set. And there were so darn good drums later on.
|
| |
I agree. I'd even daresay he'd give Gene Hoglan a run for his money, and I've seen Gene live. That guy owns.

I totally believe it. There are very few drummers out there that can match his speed these days. Nick Barker, Vader's drummer, Flo Mounier, and Gene Hoglan...but that's about it.

On this album, I couldn't really make out the lyrics that well, but the vocals sounded alright. The guitar work was pretty badass.
