worse than Fred Durst?...
At least I can laugh when I hear Fred Durst. The only thing I do when I hear Davis is grimace.

So i just listened to the entire album after reading this review. I am disappointed
It's not very good in my eyes. It's tolerable at best but there's nothing about this album that really distinguishes itself from the earlier Korn i have heard apart from the industrial influences which feels like a bland inclusion. Jonathon Davis turns me off the most, i simply don't like the way he sings. It sounds like a 30/40 yr old still stuck in adolescent torment.

4.5! yikes, I doubt its that good...crap I really don't want to buy this, and if it blows thats a waste of 10 bucks, because I grew out of Nu-Metal, kinda boring

The reason I referred to it as industrial influenced is because a lot of the album sounds like The Fragile. The album is atmospheric, and a lot better than anything you've ever done.
But if you don't like Johnathan Davis's lyrics and vocals; you'll never enjoy Korn. But I've never really liked them and this has turned me onto Korn.

From what I heard this is actually a pretty good release for Korn. I may just buy it to keep up my collection of their whole discography.

this is a lot better than SYOTOS. that album was phucking crap - easily their worst along with TALITM.
|

Take a Look in the Mirror and See You on the Other Side were so...so...so...bad!

yes, can not agree more. i can not find words for how uninspiring these albums are, especially the latter.
i only liked Did My Time from the former. and absolutely no one from that Britney Spears- producer team infected album.
btw i think you're very generous with your positive reviews, especially on the new releases. maybe 1.0 or 0.5 down, then it's more realistic imo. This Message Edited On 07.25.07

No, I think this a really good album and people just can't get over the fact that Korn isn't a bad band anymore. This album is a great record...easily. Its a very good album.

Never liked Korn, and doubt it will change with this release, but you did a proper job on the review, bro.

I'm sorry, it's really not that good dude. I would have liked it to have been.
It's just plain ridiculous to say it's their "defining" or "best" record.

I liked See You on the Other Side a lot when it came out, I think it has some cool songs I will give this album a try eventually but I spent all my money.
|
| |
It is their defining album. Their debut was half-cooked and overrated.
|
| |
tribe-- i didn't care for their debut either. the only impressive song was daddy because i still find davis's breakdown at the end, feigned or not, to be one of the most emotional and sad things i have ever heard.

Haha, there maybe some sort of contridiction with hyperbole. Korn can be summed up as corporate rock..........
|
| |
Really; I have no clue why people rip on Korn. They invented the nu-metal genre.
Their sound was unique when it first came out. They got ripped off.

This is really boring.

Sometimes I don't know what type of music makes people...not bored.

Mostly because of the so-called shitty riffs and the whiny
vocals/lyrics. that's pretty much it.
|
| |
Their riffs are normally alright...but the lyrics have always sucked.
