Binging Wilco tonight in anticipation of Friday's concert and they're hitting a sweeter spot than ever right now - this and Ghost are simultaneously growing. Perhaps against my better judgment, I'm trying to cram all their albums by Friday night, though there are at least four albums I haven't heard yet...!!!

"what light" might be the most underrated wilco song

Chan I know it's not on this album but I'm listening to "Bull Black Nova" for the first time right now and it's so eerily in sync with your av that I can imagine those characters dancing to that song

"On and On and On" is the most underrated cut here imo, such a beaut, would be the best here if not for the obviously classic "Impossible Germany".

"Impossible Germany" makes me want to 5 this
I might have an out of body experience if they play that song on Friday
"On and On and On" is indeed quite lovely but I think "Walken" is my choice deep cut here - that groove at the end is so simple yet so effective.

Germany's pretty much a staple of their live show so you'd be quite unlucky not to get it.

Pro tip: You may already be planning to hear it but do not overlook their debut album, despite having been forgotten by most people they play songs from it pretty frequently.

Oh don't worry about that Boney, that one's already on my to-do list - having just finished the self-titled and currently listening to The Whole Love, I'm planning on blitzing through Star Wars, Schmilco, and Ode to Joy tonight, and then looping back around to A.M. tomorrow or Friday morning.

Alright. I'd tell you to chill out and savor tbh, but you do you. Just make sure you come back to the albums later and really give them a chance to sink in. I maintain that the band has a really excellent discog even if you remove their consensus works (i.e. Being There through Ghost)

Chilling out and savoring is what I do with 99.9999% of discogs and is what I had planned to do with Wilco as well... but having only two nights until seeing them in concert threw a wrench in that plan :D
Will absolutely be coming back to them later - their albums have proven so far to be growers for me and I'm definitely looking forward to letting each album unfurl.

On second thought, a song as expansive and elegant as "One Sunday Morning" feels like the perfect place to stop for the night, so I'll pick up with Star Wars in the morn' m/

Fitting, as that was their longest gap between album releases.
