The vocalist reminds me a lot of Corpsegrinder
He does kind of sound like Corpsegrinder off of KILL

They definitely don't have much which captivates me when it comes to the technical. I remember when I used to be hooked by Entombment of a Machine and Entities, but this album is just too recycled for my taste.

I really enjoy this album. I personally think it is great. I agree mainly with hottie bass player. one of the best metal/ "deathcore" albums in the last couple years. I dont agree with any of you guys though about the divine falsehood being the best song on here though. im gonna have to say embedded or altered from catechizationThis Message Edited On 05.16.07

Embedded is pretty sick.

Altered From Catechization didn't strike as much of a chord with me like The Divine Falsehood did however.

Just depends on the listener I suppose...

This is Deathcore

Their last album had a barely a drop of hardcore influence and that's supposedly lost on this one. So, with that, I defy you to find a single hardcore influence on Genesis.

Go.

i hate this band
death metal and metalcore don't mix, and the latter is terrible. nice review though.

Once again, I defy you to tell me where the hardcore influence is.

Just because it's modern and features young kids doesn't mean there's any hardcore in it whatsoever.

Ture, look at Necrophagist.

Well, Necrophagist don't really have that kind of sound.

I mean the whole, "oh my god they used a breakdown, they're metalcore" thing. Firstly, I read there were no breakdowns on this album, and secondly, breakdowns aren't native to hardcore. In fact, in their current inception, that's a sound that was at one point almost exclusive to death metal.

I hate genres and I hate nitpicking, but the only thing i hate more is people who falsely label a genre in hopes of justifying their own insecurities.

Of course I knew the internet, lol but amazon seems to have none as of now. Hmm I might have to dig deep into the underground world of pirating unfourtunitly. This Message Edited On 05.16.07
