hell yea man! this album kicks the shit out of metallica i mean come on think about it...metallica is going to try to put out an old school thrash alum by this summer/fall? yea right...i heard like 2 of there news songs...and hetfields voice is shit. and so metallica says its supposed to have an MOP type of feel...well im surley not impressed of what ive been hearing..there over reacting..and just boosting there egos..

The fact that it's going to sound like MoP is just talk, probably. They're saying that because the fans want to hear it. They know that most people don't like St. Anger. It's probably not going to be old school thrash, even. Just boring metal.

Thrash in the 21st century cannot and should not be compared to the thrash of the past, but must be compared to what else is being put out around it. I think with bands like COB and Wintersun putting out revolutionary metal, this album just doesn't cut it musically. But then again we are in the era of St. Anger and 'Shizo' Deluxe...so I guess compartively this album is ok. But that about it. This album is solid. Not great.

this album has gotten better over time, i raised it from a 3.5 to a 4. i dont like the version of a tout le monde on this album though. washington is next is an instant classic

I think "Washington Is Next" is tied with "Hangar 18" for my favorite Megadeth song. This album is just fantastic.

Excellent review, most impressive. I agree this album is top notch. I had a hard time forgiving you for that Ozzy review.. But hey, they truth hurts, its an awful CD even though Ozzy is a god. Have a good one.

This is definitely a great album. Washington is Next is so fantastic. However, I was disappointed with A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free). The girl's vocals are ok, but nothing special, and Dave singing on it sounds so "unstructured" if you will. I definitely prefer the original.
