Mudvaynian you've got to listen to their first album. The vocals on it aren't as wide in range but the music is amazing for a debut. Its definetly on par with this album but not TFOI.

Shannon was a great thing that ATR had goin for 'em. Too bad he's gone know. The drums on this record are such a step down from whats on Ideals, or I should say they're a step up on Ideals.

yes cemetary this album is worth the money. I think people talk sh it because they havent listened to the album all the way through and will never give it a shot (not saying that you didnt Shadow). I dont know if many of you listened to the Fall of Ideals, but Phil's vocals slay Brian's on that album. too bad Adam D had to produce it and make them sound like KsE

I don't think they sound like KsE at all.

2.5?! This is probably the best band to come out of the Mass. scene. Blood Has Been Shed, Unearth, and some Killswitch are the only other ones that give them any competition. They murder Shadows Fall.

Sorry but that title already belongs to Beyond the Embrace, they blow AtR out of the water. I Recommend you check em out.

Phil is definitely the best metalcore vocalist, but the guy from As I Lay Dying is only average.

I don't even consider BtE metalcore, I think they lean towards Melodic Death Metal if anything.

grrr... i think both vocalists from kse beat the hell out of phil. That's not just my opinion, it's a proven fact since if u watch any live videos of all that remains performing... phil isn't as strong live and his cleans are awful. He actually screams the melodic parts most of the time(thank god) since he can't pull em off.

edit: although Phil is fucking awesome on the record. This Message Edited On 10.31.07

Im glad I read that because I was thinking about getting the ATR dvd. Also, I agree with morjens. Not so much that Howard is better than Phil, because theyre about the same in my opinion with Howard being the better singer, but Jesse was my favorite of all of them (Mass. scene). I also agree with you Josh D. TFoI was better, but I love this cd. I mainly said ATR were the best because the guitarists are the most skilled. And if they knew what was good for them, they would have held on to Shannon and never let him go. Im sure TBDM doesnt mind though.
