Played this one the other week and it sounded good. Sadly I only know a few ST albums but I liked the thrash metal stylings of this one as a nice contrast to the straightforward punk that came before it. The album titled track is a great anthem while "Sorry" is an quicker hit of adrenaline as Mike's just spews out verses in rapid succession. "Pledge your Allegiance" I remember thinking was kinda cheesy once but it really has chunky bad ass feeling rallying cry to it. ST! Heh. This was a good start to their more (popular) metal alternative period.

I would choose that one over this one but this is still an nice change of pace. Actually to be honest I aged into my 20s listening to the re-recorded version over these years. "Still Cyco After All These Years." Which apparently some people really really didn't like. (I just looked and noticed some ppl here didn't either). I dunno, I thought it had really good energy plus they threw some tracks from "Join the Army" on it as a bonus.

Agreed on debut being far superior but I do like this one quite a bit too. The debut is top 3 crossover of all time though

I was rating this against the re-recording. And a lot of thoughts plus well I am glad ST! Somehow a gang started because of this band and Mike Muir released a shitty album basically to get out out of his contract. That's cool. He's still alive!

Sorry?! And then the Feelings Back are great closers as if the earliest aren't solid. I should bump my rating.
Also a dude from hee played in Metallica.

I’d rate their first four albums about the same, they’ve all got different things to recommend them, and a few weaknesses.

I walked to the stores earlier today listening to this. Pledge your Allegiance is unintentionally hilarious to me. I always felt like it was a weird self worship song. Other songs really are much darker in sincerity and I used to listen to this album in earnest when I was happier actually a lot and it made me feel better.

I don't like asking-and it's not easy to say...
I never learned how to pray
So if you have a moment it means so much to me oh can't you see...
If you'd just say a prayer for me
Too many times-I didn't even have a second
Too many times-you thought I was much too strong
Too many times-you said the feeling wouldn't last forever
Too many times-I proved you so damn wrong
I did learn how to pray, but too many times. Gonna '4' this as I grab another drink. Plus family issues got really confusing and bad work, too many bad vibes.

I've been unemployed this year. I got a 401k pension that is better than I thought, but I don't really care and some savings. I tried applying for some other local places, but I'm old.
I WANT MORE is one of thier older songs and not in a greedy way. It's about working like a maniac for a job that pays minimum wage. Ten years ago me, I had a chance.

Also "Sorry" is a stand out song. It's basically old S/T if Pledge your Allegiance didn't remind you who you were listening to. Haha I feel like there really isn't a bad song here, but yeah I guess overall it is a the sum of its parts make a whole. Suicyko-mania is just a Metallica like riff song. So that might be the most whatever song here, but it's not bad either. Surf and Slam follows it, that follows the same pattern. It's just a jam out song.
