IN a Simple Rhyme is such a great closer,
such a huge step forward from II, much more mature themed with hints if their former self

Opener's too good.
Nice bass on "Everybody Wants Some".
This might end up as my fave of theirs.

Tho, I do feel II is notably weaker than the other 3

I think II is my favorite after their debut

Still 3 more to go from the Roth Era for me. But, were I to rank the first 3, I'd go:
W&CF
VHI
VHII
But they all rule.

counterclockwise.discog walk: Revisit on the Remastered 2008 Jap. Ed.( perfect prod) Killer opener on this LP followed by "Everybody Wants Some" surprisingly advanced & original heavy piece. "Loss Of Control", the rhythmic part on this piece, is some sort of proto-heavy thrash metal. Album as a whole, is very heavy for 1980. ( if some are offended by the proto prefix, just ignore it, i am no elitist)
No weak song here, not even the little & fun "Could This Be Magic" neither the closer because of the nice Eddie solo.
Clarif: I understand why some of the recent generation rate this 2.5/3.0/3.5. That said, one fair way to rate these old gem, it is trying to not be too much influenced by later heavy band.
Contextual appreciation is the obvious path to go. Seems easy, but in fact, it is not so. We all need to auto reminds us this powerful technic. Happy surprise will happen if we follow the path.
Of course, this is only a suggestion that i share, and find fun & use. I suspect that many sput m8 already use it wisely. Cheers.
