Not quite what I was going for. I was merely saying that the terms "Concept Album" and "Rock Opera" have been used interchangeably when they really shouldn't be, and that Mindcrime is one of the few examples of the latter. I was also only trying to point out QR's stab at giving the album an operatic structure (rather than just having a bunch of songs that follow a story) made it somewhat unique. Sorry I wasn't more clear.
And also; taking Queensryche to task for having a lot of their songs sound "the same" on one album? an album (especially one designed around a premise or plot) SHOULD have some sense of consistency and continuity. Besides, how many bands have made the same song (heck, the same ALBUM) for their entire career?
Queensryche have their flaws as a musical outfit, but making the same song over again ISN'T one of them.
