represents a side of Gen X, I guess - particularly Gen X Mancunians - but I got into this (& Scream in general) in 05/06 and fuckin' loved it
only track that really stuck out as "dated" in any capacity to me was Don't Fight It Feel It, but even then that is a banger
I do think I generally prefer Vanishing Point & possibly even XTRMNTR to this one, but those 3 alone have kept the Scream pretty high in my lil list of favorites for a while now

Both Vanishing Point and XTRMNTR are much better than this. Screamadelica has some great moments, but is rather a memento of an exciting but long-lost era.

Honestly, I don't disagree with any of that
but even then I'd still have it at least at 4-4.5, 'cause damn those highs are high

you're probably right, I just listened to it 2 times in a row, it has fantastic moments, really made my day (so far), so a bump could be warranted

you just need to do as much ecstasy as they were doing at the time to fully get it, duh

This is one of those bands that got their momentum killed by Nirvana, right? Incredibly novel sound, I didn't even notice how southern rock influenced it was. But nevertheless, it doesn't really quite take off as well as you'd expect. It's rather boring a lot of the time, but still props to the band.
