His self titled is the best. No contest. Christian Brothers, Alphabet Town, Southern Belle, Coming Up Roses etc. are unbeatable. It's in the top 3 of the best albums of the 90s in my opinion. I also love his first album, tracks like Condor Ave. or the instrumental closer Kiwi Maddog 20/20. Magic. One day I'll write on his memorial wall, 4334 Sunset avenue Los Angeles.

Good review. Beautiful album which was fitting after he passed away. A true Poet.

Twilight and A Fond Farewell are beautiful.

This is so, so good. I think every song on here is pretty much great, but I seem to like his electric stuff more than most people. This Message Edited On 03.08.09

Great review for a near perfect record. Too bad songs like True Love never got an actual release....that would have beat out Twilight.

you'd think that for as long as i've held all his other shit in such high esteem that i would've checked this out before now, but christ this may become my favorite album of his. the more electric-oriented stuff on this album absolutely kills. love the wall-of-sound production on "coast to coast." fuck. every song on this is awesome.

So Elliott Smith is dominating my lastfm plays and I keep telling myself to listen to other bands to even it out....but I just can't stop.....

This is the place you'll end up when you lose the chase. Where you're dragged against your will from a basement on the hill.

A Passing Feeling is the best song here
