I've been listening to this every day since I've gotten it. I've decided that Romanticide and Dead Gardens lack a little bit compared to the rest of the album. Ghost Love Score is epic as hell, and the rest of the songs are all above-par.

I wonder why it is like that? I feel the same way about Phantom of the Opera. The record version is ok, but the version on End of An Era is jaw dropping.

I personally love the record version but the liv rendition of Phantom is breathtaking. Still need to see the new movie. Poet, you should check out this group called "Die Verbannten Kinder Evas" Awesome stuff. It has a guy from Summoning so it's sound is epic on a massive scale with awesome female vocals. The newer album is in the database, check it.

I listened to Dead Gardens again today, Tarja's performance is lovely but besides that it doesn't do much for me. I think Wish I Had An Angel is pretty damn good. Romantacide... meh.
I wonder what any of this with Anette sounds like. Ill get a chance to see them live soon.

My new favorite part of the album is Marco's two verses of singing in The Siren. I could crop that part of the mp3 and loop it all day, it's so breathtaking.

Bfhurricane, I saw the band live and the Anette versions of Nemo/Wish I Had An Angel are great. She can't really do the highs on Siren/Dark Chest of Wonders, so they kind of adapt the song for that.

Ghost Love Score has the slowest pace of any song on here outside of Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan. How was it hard to sit through the whole thing then? I am just curious.

it's not the pace of the songs i didn't like, it's that i can't take more than a few tracks worth of their sound. i don't really care for her voice, the guitars hardly ever do anything outside of rhythm and the strings got annoying.
