“There are plenty of other shows to go to and enjoy, it's not as if this is the last show on the planet. Really weird that people are getting bent out of shape because people are saying we shouldn't support an abuser lol.”
There’s is such a massive amount of middle ground between what I said and what you’re implying
And the setlist is mostly this and TDAG with bits of Daisy and Deja. No YFW

“Jesse's a groomer.”
we know man give it a rest
I don’t dislike anyone in this thread, I actually have a great deal of respect for more than a few of you, just treat others well please. It’s getting ridiculous. Everyone is aware of what happened and what is going on. Going to a concert doesn’t make you a monster, and staying home doesn’t make you some kind of uppity person.
There’s enough hatred in the world, this is a nice tight knit community (full of assholes and elitists, but I wouldn’t have it any other way) and we don’t need to be at each others throats over this.

Taking something completely out of context and ignoring the two whole ass paragraphs afterwards is so you drifter. Keep grandstanding, you’re such a good person.
Also didn’t forget you decided to call me out when I was between medications and going through an insane manic episode, but yeah man just keep doing what you do, you’re really healing the world with all of your shitposting. Like I said there is enough hatred in this world but if you wanna add to it I’ll clap the fuck back

I'm not gonna give it a rest, in fact people should be even louder about it.
"Going to a concert doesn’t make you a monster"
No, but I will judge someone for it. I think supporting a nonce is gross and I think if someone doesn't feel uncomfortable about going to see a nonce play, that's kinda weird.

“Yeah looking at it I’m shocked they played could never be heaven instead of can’t get it out… idk tho I’ve always hated that song. Rest of the album is perfect imo”
Could never be heaven is blah, agreed. It was a fairly emotional delivery when he sung the lyrics about his daughter and son, knowing his son (step, but still) passed fairly recently.
But yeah. Even live it was kindof a bore. Play Crack the Sky was great as far as the acoustic set goes. So was Out of Range. At the Bottom was retooled slightly and played acoustically. TBH, it lost any of the impact if the original song without the explosive chorus. In fact, he lowered his voice on octave and kinda mumbled the chorus. Definitely a blue ball moment haha.
But, rest of the show was phenomenal! Hope to see them again soon, hopefully in support of a new album.

“
I really mean no offense guys, I’ve chosen not to go despite literally multiple different friend groups in different cities hitting me up… I’m really with Larkin on this. If you wanna go, then go. If not, then don’t shit on the people that are.
It really is that simple and I’ll go back to what I said in some other thread or maybe a few pages ago in this one: the world fucking sucks, if people want to go to the fucking emo concert and enjoy what little there is about life then just let them. Even as someone that isn’t going it still feels like moral grandstanding. If you can feel like you can move past Jesse’s actions then go with my blessing, if not, don’t try to demonize the people that are. It’s just so tiresome and fucking ridiculous tbh”
Verbatim. And that’s where I’ll leave it. I’m here to discuss the music and the show. Anyone who wants to go off topic, that’s fine. I really don’t care. Or care enough to respond to anyone about it, or what they think about me for going. I just don’t care. But I respect you if you choose not to go. And that’s where I’m ending my thoughts on the matter.

Gonna try to avoid most set list spoilers but would love to know roughly how many songs from SciFi they’re playing?
YFW: 0 (though they did play Mixtape the second night but I only went the 1st night.
Deja: 5
The D&G: 9
Daisy: 4
Sci fi: 7
Pretty sure that’s right. They played another track that isn’t on any of the albums, a bit of a fan favorite. But I won’t tell you unless you wanna know.
One of the best set lists I’ve seen. Nearly perfect. Helps that they played for nearly 2 and a half hours, pretty fucking impressive!
I always check set lists beforehand, I can never seem to help myself. But I do miss the days before setlist.fm where it was relatively a pain to find the setlist. I still remember going into my first Tool show on the Lateralus tour with no idea what the fuck they were gonna play. Blew my mind. Also ate an eighth of shrooms before the show (and crazy fucking Mike Patton/Fantomas opened!), but they’ve blown my mind sober too. Those Lateralus shows were legendary man. They were still on fire then.
I’m jealous you’re going in blind though. You will not be disappointed man, I highly recommend going!

I’ll add one more thing that needs to be said: cancel culture is toxic, gross and counterproductive. Harvey Weinstein can go to hell, but he’s a rare example.
I did a lot of fucked up things as a 30 year career addict/alcoholic. Luckily, many people have the capacity to forgive (I’m 4 months sober now). Some people can’t quite see the gray area.
And that’s all. Respond to me if you’d like, I’ll read it, but I won’t respond, nor will it have any affect on me. But do your best if you want, I guess. No hard feelings on my end.

In what way is thinking Jesse Lacey and his band of enablers don't deserve to take the same stage/platform that Jesse used to groom teenagers as a grown man cancel culture? If that's the argument you're trying to make then you lost the plot. If you're talking about the people that go to the shows being canceled, that's not happening.
