actually, I don't think this is only music, I like to think that this is more of an experience. once you get in and hear the first seconds and the wall of guitar noise, you can't help but fall into the gritty world of jane doe. this is not like those albums people call "atmospheric", it's an atmosphere in itself. it's impossible to analyze the music on this album,, because it's only matter is to create this unbelievably constructed piece of art. it's hard to get into for it's own obscurities, but it's still worth the effort. i'm sure this will, in time, go down in history with classics such as london calling and yankee hotel foxrot

heaven in her arms, fault and fracture, concubine and thaw probably in that order are my faves
whole thing is perfect though... except distance and meaning and hell to pay
if those two were off the album, it would be 7/5 material
i feel like they just threw them in to have like a poppy section and give something for first time listeners to grasp onto.. especially for people who are unfamiliar with the genre
for some reason i get this notion that they knew this album would be a huuuge hit while they were making it. just how it was produced/the tracklisting i guess
