Yeah same. Even though this album is chaotic and technical and weird, I still have almost all the parts memorized. I can hardly say that for even the simplest albums I like.

"I mean it's not terrible by any means, just not as interesting to me as it once was."

This is my issue, its just not as interesting to me as it use to be 5 years ago. I don't think this album has aged well. With that being said, Colors is a great album to introduce someone to progressive metal.

"Is their newest album any good?"

It has all the BTBAM tropes with the exception of the heaviness. If you like BTBAM, you'll enjoy it.

Do yourself a favor and check out The Parallax 1 and 2 also. The Parallax 1 is the best album that BTBAM has released imo, and 2 is better than colors.

"I love the way this ends though. So Good."

I do agree. The album does end well, its just all the extra bs that they included in the album for reasons I do not understand throws me off.

Like some of you here I too used to memorize this entire album back in the day. Haven't jammed it in a long time though and dunno if it will hold up as strongly as it used to. Also have no interest in checking out their newer material whatsoever.

For me, this band fell off HARD after TGM. I dunno what it was, but everything they released after that did nothing for me. Maybe my mood changed and I wasn't into the super prog stuff they were doing anymore.

"Best prog metalcore band ever, yeah agreed."

Why the fuck are these guys even considered metalcore? I always saw them as progressive death metal... never understood the supposed hardcore influence people hear in this

Last I checked, progressive metal's a goddamn metal genre. So is death metal, for that matter!

"But bloc, do you like Back To Times Of Splendor"

Yeah man I like that album a lot. It took a long time to grow on me though.

Colors is filled with metalcore elements. Prequel the the Sequel and White Walls are filled with them. Having a metalcore label isn't a bad thing.

Some parts of this are kind of nice but enough of it is terrible and cringey as fuck and painfully wanky that I have to 1 it on principle.
