As someone who grew up with a junkie dad who OD'd and passed away a couple years ago, seeing him live the way he did was my deterrent from stuff like heroin and meth. He even offered it to me a few times and I was like hell nah

Benzo's and opiates ain't much better tho tbh. The dependency and withdrawals on those are hell on earth. Alcohol too if your a heavy alcoholic. Drugs have a place and time but a lot of them cause more problems than they are worth tbh

Sorry to bring it to a dark place but it's the truth for me. If seeing that life firsthand doesnt steer you away, I dont know what would. I appreciate the condolences though, brothers



Also, agreed that alcohol can be just as bad when used heavily. My dad himself had that issue but there was a friend of his I met a few times that died from drinking listerine. My dad told me he got him bottles of liquor in the past because he was afraid he was gonna die from the withdrawals he was having. He grew up in a small town in Kentucky where things like this were common lol
