I think there's a difference between listening to drake and the sort of worship that happens from his deeper fans like the ones that frequent r/drizzy. I wouldn't assume someone who bumps Drake is one of those people.
That being said, I do think Drake is becoming an increasingly dangerous person in the online landscape and essentially just part of the manosphere.

holy shit the first 10-15 pages of this thread are hilarious.
album fucks righteously, i dunno why people are searching so hard for a reason to be mad about it. title track is also a monster groove. anyone who says the beat is bad/goofy or the features don’t pull weight needs to get their ears examined, honestly. hitta’s delivery on that track makes it one of my favorites on the album.

Lmfao even Take Care wasn't thaaaaat good, its big hit spawned that "yolo" shit, and "started from the bottom" was always mid, never mind the obvious posturing lyrically (aubrey graham was born in a middle class family in Canada, not exactly the bottom)
i'll be surprised if drake actually does somehow manage to top this, there's not a single drake song from beginning to end (meaning, no feature that massively elevates the song, like the features on Forever) i'd put above anything here

I've just never gotten the Drake hype even when people liked him more. Hotline Bling is another absolutely godawful song tbh

Idk man, I've put Wayne songs above some of this material (Dedication 2 owns in particular), Kanye songs despite what he's become, Jay-Z, Dre, hell 50 Cent had plenty of bangers early that I could say, it's not that this is impenetrable it's that I've never really been a fan of Drake specifically. There was a 6 month period where I liked Take Care (minus The Motto, song has always been bad to me) but nowadays I couldn't care less, and I would mention Em but he hasn't been on this level in over 15 years and a lot of the community doesn't really respect him like they used to from what I've seen

Hotline Bling is a vibe (not one I like but one nonetheless) and most people listen to Drake (and music in general) as a vibe

I don’t like Drake but I’m not gonna pretend he’s the worst rapper out there. If he just stuck to the melodic low key stuff he’d be fine
