Animosity, The Red Chord, Glass Casket and Wretched were some of my favorites. All Shall Perish was pretty dece, too.

Deathcore definitely has a sea of stale bands moreso than a lot of genres I dug into but imo the best dxc albums are like, GOATED at making me wanna piledrive a 6 year old

Aw man how could I forget glass casket after they just came back? The Red Chord is terrific too but I kinda fell off FFAA awhile back. ASP has the price of existence but that's the only album I remember digging.

They toe the line but I agree they're a bit more above the label. Fused in doors is too cool 😎

I like calling them deathcore because it really elevates the genre as a whole. They definitely don’t adhere to genre norms and are generally head and shoulders above most other bands that mix metalcore and death metal.

I guess a progressive metal / core combo could be shortened as such if one desired, but I don't think it's an actual genre term, unless I'm mistaken (hard to keep up these days!)

a lot of mathcore is often kinda "proggy" in nature, I suppose

I mean yeah sure, but you could say that about a plethora of things relevant to our daily lives...

why is the 'standard' in a lot of cultures 3 meals a day? Someone just made that up

what's with this weekday / weekend thing? And why is it common to work in the 'week' - think I might not bother

(okay I'll stop now, genre terminology is often daft but can actually be useful)

Still one of my favorite metal albums to come out of the 2020's.

Just such awe inspiring songwriting on here
